FX Hotel Makkasan, Bangkok has been talked among Thai people because room rates are often offered with promotion. It is also located in a convenient location because it is pretty close to MRT (the underground train), Phetchaburi Station (5 minutes walk) and Airport Rail Link, Makkasan Station (10 minutes walk). Moreover, there is a convenience store like 7-11 right next to the hotel.
FX Hotel Makkasan Bangkok has 78 rooms in 7 floor building (it seems to be a building that has been renovated to become a hotel and it is not quite interesting when looking from the outside, but the inside is clean and modern decorated). The lobby of the hotel for check-in is just next to the front door. Next to the lobby, there are computers for using free internet WiFi provided, an elevator and staircase. The hall way between the rooms is covered with carpet, but the hall way is not very wide. Although there is no breakfast included for guests, there is a good dim sum restaurant next to the hotel (it looks like restaurant of the hotel also since it opens from 7 am to 10.30 pm). There are also American Breakfast and Rice Porridge menu offered in the morning in this restaurant. Note that, check-in and check-out time is similar to other hotels, which check-in at 2 pm and check-out at noon. There is a parking lot behind the building.
The room here is clean, neat and decorated in modern style. Although it is not quite large, using a cloth rack on the wall instead of a closet help the room look more space. The facilities in the room are full equipped. For example, there are a flat screen TV with many channels, a dressing desk, a safe box, a fridge, a kettle, a hair dryer, a telephone, 2 complimentary bottles of water and free internet wifi (maximum for 4 devices). Moreover, the LAN cable is also provided for those who want to connect internet direct to laptop to transfer data faster. For the bathroom is a shower with heater (no bathtub). Facilities in the bathroom, there are only 2 big-size towels (without the small-size ones), a bar of soap, a small bottle of shower gel and shampoo (no shower cap). Almost forget to mention that the keycard can be used to open the door and turn on the electrical system in the room. And also, the door room has the safety alarm when the door is not completely closed.
For negative points of this accommodation, there is not much space in the room. Although there are enough facilities in the room, the electric outlets at the dressing desk alone would probably be inconvenient when need to use computer in bed. In addition, rooms near the street can hear the noise from outside. Apart from dim sum restaurant and 7-11, there are no others choices for the food around the hotel. This is also the reason why there are not many people walk on the pavement around the hotel at night. Another thing that should be careful is, in the daytime, motorcycles are often run up on the sidewalk when getting traffic.
