Check Inn Chinatown

Budget Hotel in The Area of Chinatown, Bangkok

Information of Check Inn Chinatown

Check Inn Chinatown is one of interesting hotels for those who want to stay overnight near Chinatown, called Yaowarat by Thais. The hotel is very close to the center of Chinatown. So, there are Chinese shops, restaurants, and Lotus Supermarket nearby (it is very close when walk from the hotel through the temple). Check Inn Chinatown might be one of great-accommodation choices in this area because of its affordable prices, interesting location, and full facilities.

Check Inn Chinatown is a moderate hotel. It is a five-story building with an open-space bar on the top of the building (the bar is ready to serve in the evening). There are 34 rooms in total, including rooms on the ground floor. As usual, the lobby is next to the entrance. Staffs at the front counter are quite nice and helpful. Next to the lobby, there are computers for guests using free internet.

For the room of Check Inn Chinatown, although the room is not large, furniture and decoration style are set to make the room more comfortable. Facilities here are also well provided - a closet, a safe box, a TV, a small fridge with 2 free bottles of water, a hair dryer, free set of coffee and tea, 2 pairs of slippers, 2 sets of big and small size of towels, and free internet WiFi (quite good signal). In the case of bathroom, a shower area and a toilet are separated, where soap and shampoo are provided in the style of refill gel. In the room here, there is a small kitchen area (there are a microwave, a stove with cooker hood, cleaning sink, dishes and silverware) for those who would like to cook in the room. Guest can open the room and turn on electricity by keycard.

Check Inn Chinatown is located in Soi Yaowarat 8 or Soi Charoen Krung 14 (Soi Charoen Krung 14 is about 50 meters from Chinese Temple, Wat Mangkorn).

For the negative points of Check Inn Chinatown, the first one would be the street at night which can probably be unsafe for a woman who walks alone during late night. Secondly, there is no parking of the hotel for those who drive to Check Inn Chinatown. For the rooms of the hotel, bed in the room is a little small and no-window room can make some guests feel a little uncomfortable. Another thing would be a negative point for Seven Eleven’s Fans because they have to walk about 200-300 meters and have to cross a busy street of Chinatown.

Note that the last stop of MRT Underground Train is currently at Hualamphong, which visitors need to walk about 10 minutes to Chinatown. However, there is another station, Wat Mangkorn Station, is now under construction. When finished, this station is much closer to Chinatown (Yoawarach Road) and to Check Inn Chinatown Hotel as well.

In conclusion:
- Overall Score: 9
- Reasons: Overall Score is for affordable hotels in the area of Chinatown. For those who would like to visit Chinatown, this hotel can be seen as an interesting budget hotel because the hotel is near the central Chinatown, where guests are able to walk to main street and Chinese shops in 5 minutes. Tesco Lotus (Market) is also close to the hotel. The room is offered with full facilities and with affordable price. However, walkway to the hotel at night is quite dark and not many people walk around. The hotel does not have a car park and most of the room seems to have no window.
- Room Rate: 1000 - 1200 Baht
- Check-in: 14.00 / Check-out: 12.00
