Krua Ton Kaw Restaurant is an outstanding restaurant in Wonnapha Beach (or Had Won). It is quite different from many restaurants in Bangsaen because this restaurant offers local food as the main dishes. Though, there are seafood menus in the restaurants as well. The atmosphere of this restaurant is great because it is a beachfront restaurant decorated with many trees. Krua Ton Khaw has currently become a favorite place for many customers even for foreigners. Perhaps, having a meal under the trees can feel as comfortable as sitting in their own backyard. The location of the restaurant is almost at the end of Wonnapha Beach.
Krua Ton Khaw Restaurant opened firstly several years ago. Since the establishment, there is a building in boat shape in front of the restaurant. This boat building can be seen as a trademark of the restaurant. Krua Ton Khaw is a large open-air restaurant. There are many tables provided to support a lot of customers. The restaurant decoration is not complicated. It looks neat and clean with white chair and tables all over the restaurants. Besides, there are also tables in a pavilion style on the side for a group of customers and seats provided at balcony on the second floor for getting a top view.
Krua Ton Kaw Restaurant offers many choices of food in both seafood and local food. If you would like to try Thai local food, you can order the local cuisine here. One of popular local food for all Thai people is Thai Dipping Sauces (called Nam Prik by Thais) which you can eat with fresh or steamed vegetables. Ingredients of Nam Prik are based on shrimp paste mixed with garlic and lime juice. However, if you can't stand a strong smell of Thai original of shrimp paste, you also can order the dipping sauce without shrimp paste such as, Crab Eggs Dipping Sauce (Nam Prik Kai Poo). Many kinds of coal vegetables always come with the sauce, such as steamed Thai eggplants, morning glory, long beans and more. If you would like to have soup, try the traditional Thai soup (Kang Lieng Kung Sod), Thai ingredients soup cooked with mixed vegetable and shrimp. The taste of food here is delicious.
The price of food here is not expensive as starting form under a hundred. The waiters are good taking care and the food is quickly served. In addition, there is free Thai dessert provided on Monday and Thursday every week.
The location of the restaurant is very easy to get to. Start from Bangsean roundabout, make a left to a small road leading to Wonnapha Beach and then drive down south along the beach until see the sign name of the restaurant on the left.
